LESLIE PUZO

Family Lawyer / Mediator / Partner

Your Family Law Attorney - Leslie Puzo, Esq.

Leslie Puzo was born in Queens, New York and spent her childhood years living in Dominican Republic. Leslie and her family relocated to Miami, Florida where she attended Coral Reef Senior High School and graduated from the International Baccalaureate Program in 2007. Leslie attended Florida Gulf Coast University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelors in Political Science and two minors in Latin American Studies and Global Studies.

Leslie moved to North Carolina in 2012 to attend law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in law school Leslie was president of Hispanic Law Student Association and in her last year was elected Student Body President of the Law School. In 2015, Leslie became licensed to practice law in the great state of Florida. She focuses her practice solely in Family law.

Leslie relishes the academic challenge of the ever-evolving case law and the application of the law to a client’s individual circumstances. Leslie believes that people are what makes this area of law most interesting as no two cases are exactly the same.

Family law is Leslie’s passion.

Why Leslie practices family law:

“I spend an incredible amount of time in family court and in court hallways learning and watching. I often see tons of scared, angry, sad or anxious people who are tossed into a situation they feel they have little to no control over. The challenge for any family lawyer is trying to find a way to assist based on very specific circumstances. From experience I've learned that a “win” may not be what other people may want but something that the individual client needs. What complicates these legal problems are surrounding issues of mental health, personality disorders, domestic abuse or just an upset spouse who don’t want to let the marriage go. I take the clients as I find them and try to work with the issues as they present themselves. As I reflect back on my experiences, I can confidently say that it’s been an exciting and rewarding journey. I truly believe that the experiences of my diverse clients have added to my experience and have allowed me to continue to grow as a family lawyer and as a person.”

Leslie’s passion for finding solutions for people is what has fueled the growth of Puzo Hernandez Law. Leslie is joined by talented and equally passionate colleagues who all share the same philosophy – we will use the tools necessary to get our clients to a better place whether it be litigation, negotiation or some form of alternative dispute resolution but we will do it in a way that ensures the process is client centered.
